7 tips to keep your skin healthy and glowing in Summer

The cold winters are coming to an end and the sun is already scorching high. Many people take care of their skin more in winter and neglect it in summer. Protecting your skin becomes more important in summer so that the you don’t suffer from the season’s skin problem. Fortunately, your skin needn’t take the burnt of the heat this summer.
Here are few tips that will keep your skin fresh and dewy, even when the mercury level keeps rising.
1. Stay hydrated- Drink a lot of water and liquids and your skin will stay soft and moisturized as well. You tend to get dehydrated in summer, so water is the best solution. Eat lot of fruits so that it keeps you hydrated and your skin healthy.
2. Sun protection. If you can, try and stay indoors between 11am and 3pm. That’s when the sun’s rays are the strongest and can have an adverse effect on your skin. Also, don’t forget to apply sunscreen 30 minutes before you step out and stay protected from harmful UV rays.
3. Use a toner. It’s important to keep your pores closed and skin cool by using a toner. The best thing to try is rose water,its natural cooling properties make it an excellent toner for the hot season.
4. Go for a water-based moisturizer. Don’t neglect to moisturize your skin even in summer, as it much it needs moisture in winter it needs be be moist even in summer.
5. Cleanse your face twice a day. At least! 6. Exfoliate. More than the rest of the year, it’s really important to exfoliate your skin in the summer to remove dead skin and improve blood circulation to the face. Try this simple homemade pack-4 to 5 table spoons of gram flour, a pinch of turmeric, 5 – 6 drops of rose water and milk or yogurt. Mix it into a paste and use it to exfoliate your face.
7. Avoid direct exposure to sun, wear full covered clothing or protect yourself with a umbrella.
