Today ARY Network lost a legal case in Landon Court filed by Mir Shakil ur Rehman. Mir Shakil ur Rehman had maintained that ARY news had been airing news and programs since OCT 2013 to defame him and his business.
Case was field in Londan as both groups operate and broadcast in UK under licenses granted by OFCOM.
Mir Shakil ur Rehman contented that his name was defamed in jurisdiction and hence should granted relued for UK ad least
After hearing both sides court decided the suit in favor or Mir Shakil Ur Rehman and also awarded him £185,000 in libel damages. Judge also found that ARY conduct was " Plainly oppressive, unreasonable and unacceptable"
